yep just put a deposit on it but it seas its an 83 and an 84 so was wondering just what it is have to go over a 1000 mils to pick it up will fly down and ride it back im in qeensland it in mebourn should be interesting trip was the onley one i could find for sale in os have a 84 bmw k100 just like bikes from this time

The dash is an '83, the only year with that particular style CMU, and it is a Standard, not a Royale, no CLASS. IMHO it is overpriced...

Some early '84 Models came with an '83 VIN. The D designates '83. E would make it a 4.

True, that has been called a 1983½, however, the VIN would have either 47R (for a Standard) or 47T (for a Royale) instead of 26H (Standard) or 31M (Royale) in the first part of the VIN.

For example: a 1983½ Royale would be 47T00xDAxxxxxx.

Never heard the term '83 1/2 used before, but it works for me... The 26H/31M vs. 47R/T is also new2me info. Ain't this board great???? Always learning something 'Venture'....
