pofarm Posted March 30, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 30, 2013 I got a Vmax geared Royal Star final drive from John at RMSportMax. I got it installed and finally got to take it out for a ride yesterday. The speedo worked fine for the first 5 miles or so, then quit when the bike was under acceleration. It still worked during decel. Today I took it out again and same thing. What could be causing this? pofarm Posted March 31, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted March 31, 2013 I got it figured out. The sensor was too far away from the pinion gear so it didn't pick up the pinion teeth as they passed it. I filed down the mounting surface a bit at a time and test rode it after each attempt. I believe it is now going to work. I will know more after I take it for an extended ride tomorrow.
