dwatson636 Posted March 9, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 9, 2013 When we bought our bike we bought an extended warranty from the Yamaha dealer. I noticed a couple of paint cracks on my gas tank does anyone know whether or not the extended warranty will cover that?
Sleeperhawk Posted March 9, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 9, 2013 umm, what extended warranty? these bikes come with a 5 year warranty that are transferable. But if bike is under warranty, the factory paint should be covered.
dwatson636 Posted March 9, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted March 9, 2013 When we bought it last October, the 5 year warranty had expired. So we were offered a two year "Yamaha Extended Warranty" for a little extra. Not from the dealership, but from Yamaha. That is what I was wondering if it covered the paint. It is 2 small hairline paint cracks. Almost hard to see but if it doesn't get repaired, I assume they will get bigger and rust.
Freebird Posted March 9, 2013 Share #4 Posted March 9, 2013 It never hurts to try but I would doubt that it covers paint.
Condor Posted March 9, 2013 Share #5 Posted March 9, 2013 I would think the extended warantee would cover mechanical breakage, not cosmetics or normal wear.... But you never know?? Good luck...
dwatson636 Posted March 9, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted March 9, 2013 Ok well l me ask this, Has anyone else experienced paint cracking? Mine is on a part of the tank that never gets touched. Except when wiping her down.
