a1bummer Posted November 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 28, 2007 Anybody over buy St. Paul and Minneapolis, MN. know of anyplace that does chrome plating? I found some chrome for my first gen but some of the stuff has some pitting and a couple small scrapes on them. Don't want no ugly chrome on my bike. Eck Posted November 29, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 29, 2007 We used to have a VR member here who opened a chrome plating buisness and was giving all VR members discounts.. I dont remember his name, and have not seen or heard of him since the site crash... Anybody remember this guy? He posted here on the site about he and a friend opening a chrome plating shop some place up north (mid west area if I remember)... a1bummer Posted November 29, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted November 29, 2007 I see several chrome plating kits for sale online for $500 and up. Looks like something that could pay for itself in a short time.
dfitzbiz Posted November 29, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 29, 2007 Try Stambaugh Metal they should be able to help. They polish parts for Harley-Davidson production and have contacts with a chrome plater. http://www.metalsfinishing.com
Guest Popeye Posted November 29, 2007 Share #6 Posted November 29, 2007 a1bummer; I took a look at your scoot & it seems you may have a huge expense for a lot of chrome. Instead, I will sell you my low mileage 86VR, with near everything redone/or new, this year, & you will have a better scoot & nowhere to add chrome...that I can think of. Some of the chromed parts aren't available anymore. Check out my pics 'imagine it buffed up', and give it some thought.
