1st gen radio interchange ?

Are the radio units ( amp and tuner) the same between all 1st gen Ventures? The radio in my 83 VR has given up and I need a replacement. I see some on EBAY for other years and they look the same buy will they plug into my amp and radio display and work?

The tuner & amp have the same part #'s from 84 to 93 in the parts fiche.

 

The 83 parts fiche did not show a p/n in the copy I have. It shows 'Unavailable" where the p/n should be listed.

The diagrams I looked in did not list part #s for the 83 either . I would assume they are the same as other years but was not sure. There are some units for 85 and 87 VRs on EBAY so I might bid on one of those.

Yup, I had the radio control, from my 83 VR in the 86 VR for a while. Until I got around to, fixing the clear plastic, over the LED display.
