fordpol Posted August 7, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 7, 2010 Any help appreciated the radio on my 08 RSV locks up randomly - can't change stations or enen shut it off for that matter. Only thing that will do anything is the volume dial. Until I pull into the dealers lot and park then works normal! Frustrating! Ken!

bongobobny Posted August 8, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 8, 2010 You may want to try unseating the multipin connector in the fairing, spray clean, and add dielectric grease to the connectors to see if that clears up the issue. This is actually a fairly common issue with 2nd gens...

I took all the round connectors apart, sprayed electrical connector cleaner into the plugs, put then together and took them apart a few times, then sprayed more cleaner in them, hit them with compressed air, then added a dab of dielectric grease. Took care of the issue. I would bet money this will take care of it.
uechi kid Posted August 8, 2010 Share #5 Posted August 8, 2010 Had the same thing happen. The above posts are right on the money. I'd take it to the dealer and make him do it. It's under warrenty.
Proud Dad Posted August 8, 2010 Share #6 Posted August 8, 2010 Dealer tried spraying the contacts, didn't help. Was locking up randomly. Replaced under warranty. Seem it is common issue. Had no problems with new unit.
