Johnh Posted October 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 28, 2007 For anyone who may be interested, Next Sunday November 4 is the CHOP toy run. It is one of the greatest events of the year. For the last few years, it has drawn in excess of 100,000 bikes and provides enough toys to supply the hospital and local childrens charities for the entire year. The meet point is on Columbus Blvd by Penn's Landing right off RT 95. the gathering starts at about 9:00 am and the parade kicks off at 12:00 noon and proceeds through the city with all roads being blocked off for the event and ends at the hospital where you drop off your toy and are greeted by hundreds of smiling children who don't often have much to cheer them up. Come one come all, then go home and give your kids a big hug and be glad you have your problems and not theirs. I hope you'll excuse me now as I get off my soap box, but this event is very close to my heart as I have first hand experience with the care provided at this facility to some of the sickest children in the world.
