BigBear Posted July 13, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 13, 2010 I'm contemplating buying a set of K&N Air filters for my 08 RSV. Do the filters come "pre-charged", or do I have to buy a charging kit prior to first use? Thanks in advance!
starrider60 Posted July 13, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 13, 2010 THEY ARE READY TO GO. JUST BOLT THEM IN AND CRANK 'ER UP. PUT 'EM IN MY '06 AT 32,000 ELEVEN THOUSAND MILES AGO.
Trader Posted July 13, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 13, 2010 Charging Kit????? Help out a newbie here! What's electrical about air filters? or are these like electro static air cleaners??????
BigBear Posted July 13, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted July 13, 2010 Nope...nothing electrical about the charging kit! It's a spray cleaner and oil-type spray to "increase the effectiveness" of the filter (I think)....
OddStar Posted July 13, 2010 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2010 I'm contemplating buying a set of K&N Air filters for my 08 RSV. Do the filters come "pre-charged", or do I have to buy a charging kit prior to first use? Thanks in advance! Been running K&N air and oil filters for 30k miles. The air filter comes pre-charged, and is good for 50k miles in normal (not real dusty) conditions. The re-charge kit can be found for $15, and has very easy cleaning and recharging instructions. KiteSquid Posted July 13, 2010 Share #6 Posted July 13, 2010 I would not recommend the K&N air filters for a bike that is ran on the street. IMHO, the cost to benifit ratio is not high enough. For off road (closed circuit racing or drag racing) using the K&N air filter might help with performance.
