rumboogy Posted June 11, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2010 Well, I did my 4000 mile oil change the other day. I went from the Yamalube to the Rotella T6 along with a Pure One Purolator Oil filter. So my oil weight went from 10w-40 down to 5w-40 and a full synthetic. I also added about 8oz of MotorKote. My whine is still audible at low speeds, but in 4th and 5th gear the whine is TOTALLY gone now. :-) I am very happy with it so far...so we'll see if it gets even better over time...but now my MOTORCYCLE sounds like a MOTORCYCLE in 4th and 5th gear!! BEER30 Posted June 12, 2010 Share #3 Posted June 12, 2010 I just switched over to Rotella T6 as well this past weekend. But I'm missing the whine. Perhaps there was never a whine............... Oh well, 63K on the '06 and no whiners allowed! BEER30

BEER30 Posted June 12, 2010 Share #6 Posted June 12, 2010 Except for the one sitting in the saddle OK , yes the (non-mechanical) whine on the rear saddle when I ride 2 up. But I betcha my whiner is not as loud as your whiner!!!!!!!!!!! BEER30
Bobby G Posted June 14, 2010 Share #7 Posted June 14, 2010 Also just switched from Yamalube semi-synth to Mobile1 20W50 full synth, and a Mobile1 2.5" filter. Added 6 oz of Motorkote as well. Also noticed a nice power surge, smoother shifting, no more engine knock, and a somewhat quieter ride. But the whine is still there in every gear. Not bad, but still there.
