Metzeler recommends 44psi in your rear. They recommend 46-48 for two up riding and 48-50 for two up heavy (see "Note recommended tire pressures" on the left side of the page linked above). I figure with my wife and her crap on board we're in the 900 lb range on the rear tire, which is it's max capacity. I always ran my rear ME880 at 50psi and still had the tread come loose, although I do not know how the previous owner had treated the tire.
