Huge thanks to MiCarl!!!

The Elite II isn't a premium tire so you go with the book - 32 PSI. Metzeler recommends 44psi in your rear. They recommend 46-48 for two up riding and 48-50 for two up heavy (see "Note recommended tire pressures" on the left side of the page linked above).

I figure with my wife and her crap on board we're in the 900 lb range on the rear tire, which is it's max capacity. I always ran my rear ME880 at 50psi and still had the tread come loose, although I do not know how the previous owner had treated the tire.

Keep an eye on that rear tire...My Metz 880 Marathon chunked out at about 6K. I'll never put a Metz on the rear again but I must say the front tire, also a Metz 880, lasted for 30K....Go figure

I run my elite II's at the sidewall recommendation.. 40psi. When I ran at 32 the bike was squirly as all get out.

Front and rear Elite II's and they are both at 40psi all the time.
