short-haul Posted March 15, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 15, 2010 Any mountain pass after Aug 31 can get tricky most trucker will throw Iron (chains) in there rigs by Sept 1( some states require it) I personally seen these passes closed while I drove my 98 KW . Snoqualmie pass in Washington closed in early Sept. about 12 years ago. Also Cabbage Pass(I-84) in OR the same year, Soldier pass (191)in Utah, Loveland pass in Co about 15 years ago.
