fuel pump o5 rsv

Just purchased an 05 Venture, this bike has been sitting for about a year. The previous owner bought it as a rebuilder, it has some damage on right side, all cosmetic no structural or mechanical. Anyway he said when he bought it he charged the battery and it started right up and ran good. Now it acts as if its not getting gas to the carbs,(fires and chugs some with choke out but wont take off and run) I have no juice to the fuel pump, is there a relay? all the fuses that I can find are ok. I unplugged the pump and hot wired it and it seems to be locked up, wont run acts like a dead short. Any suggestions??

pumps do seem to go out, and can be replaced if the bike is covered by warranty.

there are a couple threads on the forum already about fuel pumps you may want to search out. I think v7goose recommended using an old air cooled VW pump that is cheaply obtained. Ponch used a generic $40 Autozone pump that seems to work ok. Also seems from posts that if your fuel tank is over 1/2 full, that you don't need a pump at all, but I haven't tried it. The electrical schematic is posted on the forum.

Oh yes. B ike been sitting? drain the fuels and put some fresh in it. Run seafoam thru it. New fuel filter is also a possible need.
