Grandpagak Posted August 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2009 does anyone have an extra speedometer for an 83 venture? and if so how much?? if i take mine out and grease around the shaft, will the noise stop.. thefirst time that it made noise, i thought that it was the wheel bearing.. but it turned out to be the speedo.. The reason my '83 speedo made noise is it had loosened up at the back where the cable attached. Thought it was dry, but all it needed was to be tightened up. You might give that a try first. Venturous Randy Posted August 23, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 23, 2009 This is real common on these bikes and I made a fitting that you can screw on your speedometer and get grease in between the housing and coupling the cable goes into.
