PEIslander Posted September 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2007 Will 1987 rotors work on a 84 with original calipers? I have a warped rotor and may be able to get a set from an 87.
6pak Posted September 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 20, 2007 83 to 85 are interchangeable, as are 86 to 93. yamaha part#s are 1984 right front and rear 26H-25831-01-00 left front 26H2583101-00 1987 right front 1NL25831-00-00 left front 1NL25831-10-00 rear 1NL25830-52-00 The two will not fit each other. different part#s, and look different in the yamaha parts fiche. try ebc. i bought a new rotor for my 89, $162 plus shipping. I think freebird had one from an 83 a while back, depending on which one you need. If he cant help ya I'm sure somebody here can.
Venturous Randy Posted September 21, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 21, 2007 As trucker noted, they are different. The trick is to find a set of lower front forks from an 86/93 and change them out. Then you can go with later rotors, calipers and even with R1 calipers if you want to. You would need to wire up the anti-dives, but they would have to be better than the ones on the 83/85's.
