Disciple Rider Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I bought 08 Ultra Classic take offs and need to know what to do to install on my 09 RSV. I understand that the Harleys have a catalytic converter installed in one pipe. I don't know if the RSV has converters. Do I need to take the converter out of the Harley pipe? If so doesn't that mean that I'll just be running straight pipes on the RSV. I'm trying to just get a low rumble out of the RSV. Nothing to drastic just a nice tone. I'm on a budget and don't want to buy expensive pipes. I'M SO CONFUSED:bawling:
flb_78 Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 You can run it with the converter, it's not going to decrease the power. Some folks will bust out the catalyst with a metal rod, but it's not necessary. To mount them, you will need a set of brackets. You can either fabricate them yourself, or buy them from the classifieds section for $40. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1729/cat/7
