jfoster Posted March 25, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 25, 2009 Does anyone have a set of the Diamond R airwings, that mounts directly behind the lower fairing, 2nd Gen? DiamondR doesn't sell them anymore. I'd like to make a set if anyone can describe how they're mounted and what they're mounted to. Also, curious to how affective they are in reducing buffeting. jfoster Posted March 26, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted March 26, 2009 No sir, Diamond R made a set of wings that bolted to the side of the engine. The wings came up beside the fuel tank just behind the lower fairing. The quit making them sometime ago.
PERM44 Posted March 26, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 26, 2009 If you find a set, please post pictures. I ahve been trying to figure out how to make something to block/divert the air over the top of the lowers. It causes a lot of buffeting. I can put my feet up there and it really smooths the air out. I just dont like riding with my feet in that position for very long.
jfoster Posted March 26, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted March 26, 2009 Perm44 if you go to gold star venders and click on the diamondR accers, go to products for the venture and click on the padded back rest. In the photo you'll see the ones that they used to make on the bike. I couldn't find any close up pictures of how its made. One of the members said that he has a set and that they bolt to the side of the engine and work really well.
