Air Filter

I am having trouble finding a paper element air filter for my 87 Venture. Anyone have any good ideas on where I might find a new one and any part numbers that might be helpful.?. Thanks guys.

As far as I know, only Yamaha stock filter, or the K + N Replacement.

 

Put " Air Filter Yamaha Venture " in Google search, many sources for the K + N will pop up.

 

Check at you local Auto parts, they might be able to order some other brand replacement. I know several brands of Oil filters are avialable.

 

 

I have only used the Yamaha stock filter, ordered from dealers, for my 89.

 

But there Might be a cheaper replacement. Don't know for sure.

I started using Ergo air filters a couple of years ago. They are the same configuration as the stock filter at about 1/2 the price. I found my first one on eBay for $19.00 and then found a source that had them for about the same price. I'll find a part number when I get out to the garage.

 

They seem to be working just fine and at that price I don't grumble too much aout changing them.

When needed I go with K&N's. More going in but serviceable for a long long long time....
