Hey folks, this is my first time to post a thread. What I want to do is replace oem antena w/ shorter black antenas w/o loosing reception quality. What is a good brand and where can i fetch-um? Thanks in advance. Carl:7_6_3[1]:

Some around here have used even shorter antennas they've picked up at the local truck stop.

I bought Antenna's at a Truck Stop, as well as all the connectors. All in all cost me about $75 I think.

I installed a power boosted antenna inside the fairing for the radio. Got it at Pepboy's and get great reception.

I did the Marshall mod and love it. I e-mailed him a couple times w/ questions and I got quick responses.

I stopped in the same one the other day and now they have some about 12" for $7.95 each. Thinking about trying them to see how the look and work.

I converted to a single black Firestik Firefly. It's basically the Marshall Mod with a splitter feeding both radios. There's a write up with pics here. Mine looks like this:
