LED Tail Lights

I just purchased and installed the LED Tail Light for Yamaha Road Star and V-Star. It is made by Radiantz. (I bought mine from Bikerhiway.com. I recommend them. They had this to me in 2.5 days and that was normal low price shipping via USPS.)

I first saw this on Norm's bike while following Norm and Kim on a ride in bright daylight at Pork in the Pines. I kept noticing his LED tail/brake lights. They are real bright LED's. I was amazed by brightness and I decided to buy one after he told me it only cost $53.

I put mine on this evening using the stock red plastic taillight lens and it is very bright. Much brighter than the plain old 1157 light bulb. I won't even bother buying a clear lens. It also includes 3 bright white LED's to light up your license plate.

:cool17: For those that want to brighten up the back end of your bike this will do it at a bargain price. :cool17:

I also just installed the Back-Off XP module (from CruiserCustomizing) before going to Pork in the Pines and this LED board works great with that module. When hitting the brakes the LED board flashes quickly and brightly.

I want to mount some curved upright lights that point to the back on the back of RSV trunk. The $300+ price tag for the fin is too much for what it is. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I have looked at custom dynamics, and several other lighting dist. and I can't find what I want.

KiteSquid,

I already have the updated LED's in my tail light, Front and Back turns. :mo money:

I want more additional lighting, the back end is still somewhat dark and I want something in line sight view for those cagers.:backinmyday:

Also any suggestions, pictures, and part#'s on what can be used for side lighting as well?

Or to save a few more $s read THIS thread.

The 2357 bulb mod might help somebody else.....

Do you have the 15 inch lamp bar that goes under the trunk?

I have one and it is VERY NICE. BRIGHT!!!! and if you don't hook up the running light the stop lamp looks that much brighter when it comes on.

it is the first accessory I installed on my bike.

Yeah, sorry, I thought you were just answering me.:whistling:

Oh yes, I have the Rivco bar under the trunk. Both as running and as stop.

But I want MORE - MORE I TELL YA! :rotf:

I want something at eye level as well. I am also going to get that module thingy that makes the brakes flash etc.

I saw someone a while back with a '99 RSV he had these perfect little lites on top of his trunk mounted back towards the rear backrest, little black rectangular lights that had the right angle of pointing back towards the bike when mounted on the trunk, maybe 1"-2" in width to 1" in height. I think the name on them was Genie? I searched the WWW and I got bupkiss. :crying:

Close, but no cigar. This is kinda what they look like, but designed to be top mounted, angled, no blinky stuff (they are designed as running lights). These may be the route I go if I can't find what I want - the issue here is you can't mount them with a finished look on top of the trunk.

Christo,

I mounted a small flexible led bar under my trunl lock. It's just over 1/4 in wide and high and is running/brake and turns all in a 11'' bar. You can have them custom made any length and configuration you want. Radiantz makes them, not cheap though.

Hart,

Yeah - I love those things, I have some of those for some side lighting I am going to attach, and I like how it looks on your bike as well. :thumbsup2:

Those flex light bars are very handy - but you said it, expensive! :mo money:

Well since I am not getting an '09 RSV like i thought I was, I guess I can buy more schtuff for the bike since I have all this cash layin round burnin a hole in my pocket!

I've thought about using these to replace the LEDs in the trunk wing light. Just don't know if they'll fit or not. I think they will.
