    Looking for Voyager trike mounting hardware, books or any install brochures for first or 2nd gen Venture Royale

    08 RSV just lost 4th & 5th gear. I've seen the post about the 1st gen's having this problem when a pin falls out of the shift drum. I was able to get into 4th by down shifting to 2nd and then immediately upshifting into 4th. When I try to go into 5th, it won't go. I do the same thing, I downshift from 4th down to 3rd and immediately upshift past 4th into 5th. I am able to downshift ok, I only have a problem upshifting into 4th and 5th. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd shift normally. When the clutch is in and I put it in first, it does not try to lunge forward so I don't think it is the clutch. With the clutch cover off, I can see travel when I pull the clutch. This is an 08 with only 16k on it. The previous owner did the clutch spring upgrade. Any ideas?

    Took the Venture in for new set of sneakers today. Went back to Metzlers....888 this time. I had the 880s on the 86 and liked them. Avonns were good but flat center on the rear from highway riding made it difficult to do my stunt driving at low speed. All good there. Had the shop balance the carbs while it was there... it was there why not. Seems they have troubles with it as now I have continual popping sound and the big bang on deceleration. The air stuff was cap off long time ago so not that. Mechanic feels the O rings on the adjustment screws are dried out and should be replaced. I am going to order an Ivan's kit to be installed but not sure about the O rings if they will be in the kit. It was funny seeing the shop opening up VR.org to check carb sync info. Open for discussion.

    A new clutch configuration appeared on the 1987 Ventures, and other Yamaha models at the time. I have a couple of questions - is it superior, AND will it fit into a 1984? I see a few for sale eBay. The 2nd gear issue finally caught up to me, so thinking about upgrading some things while the engine is out and apart.
