Jethroish Posted January 31, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2008 Had the seat off a month ago and noticed this plug and had nto thought about it again until today when I had the seat off to check battery. There is a white plug just above the battery on the left hand side. It has power when the key is on. Is this the power plug for the CD changer? Freebird Posted January 31, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2008 No, there is no power plug for the CD changer, it get's power from the single cable that plugs into it. The plug you see is what Yamaha calls the rear power receptacle. If you look on the left side of the bike, same place where the rear air stem is on the other side, you will see a removable plug. That is a place to put another 12 volt accessory outlet. I installed it there and then ended up just cutting the white connector off that you see and wiring the receptacle with those wires.
