Running on 3 cylinders

Recommended Posts

The question I have is, could I have done any damage to my engine running it on 3 cylinders for about a 1000 miles? Did not realize I was lacking a cylinder. It is a 1986 Venture Royal.

Highly doubtful, about the only thing I can think of would be a dead cylinder from way to much fuel leading to hydro lock but if that would have happened during your ride you would be on here asking other questions.. Tweeks, our 83 with 300k on her now, came to us in the same condition. I rode her home after purchase on 3 - found the dismembered carb diaphram on the dead cylinder, put the diaphram back together, stuck in some new plugs, tossed on a sync and an oil change and headed west... She only had 28k on her then....:happy34:
