I like to hear ticking it tells me the valves are not too tight adjusted mine at 69000 miles & they needed it

Yes it does my points burn up about every 30000 miles now I bought a facet fuel pump like Bongobobny did I like the facet pump it's solid state. also put in the ignition bypass

I'm sure others will chime in on this, but that's usually the rear shock. Mine does it sometimes when I first sit on it after it's been sitting, then goes away after I ride a bit.

I figure I'll eventually have to replace the shock, but I'll wait until it starts leaking oil.

Personally, we'd want to know how/when those 7,000 miles were acquired?

 

If the owner was a casual Rider who only ran the Bike a few dozen times yearly, no problem.

 

HOWEVER... IF the Bike sat for the recent years, with little riding, and/or servicing; watch out.

 

You may be looking at a LOT of work, and possibly major expense returning that Bike to decent condition.
