  1. You mean the threaded part, that was physically welded to the adapter? :shock3: Think that was a size 20+, I've gotta change my oil and filter this month, I can check (and wow, discontinued? dang, thank god I bought mine so soon) Other than that it was a threaded piece with the skinny nut around it welded into the threads on one side

  2. 67$ a month insurance

Still able to ride her every day, priceless.

  3. The way the wingnuts designed this Summit III kept the original craptastic faceshield removal system.

IE Its frail -.-' which is what I get for spending 130 for a helmet, and 200 for a useless bluetooth set, lol. Looking into Nolans again.

And damn, well, I've got more work to do before I go into setting the bike up for HID, though the LED tail-light I got is crazy bright :)

Back to the faceshield now... Some states. I use a mirrored shield on clear because the mirror helps reflect the jackwagons with misaligned high output lowbeam set headlights. Actually, with it down on the current light its not bad, just like walking around at night it takes a while before your eyes to adjust. I specifically made sure it was a blue mirror because thats a lot easier to see thru vs Silver. Yellow mirrored works too.But you gotta make sure its mirror on CLEAR. :)

  4. Could be..... I don't know how... other feel about this option I'm about to hand you, but...

I could send you a duplicate of my OEM PRO, or OEM HE both are SP1. SP2 sometimes flakes out some of the OEM keys, and SP3... don't get me started.

Or you can... ahem... obtain a copy of the OEM Pro, or OEM HE XPs........ just don't use the cd keys they give you, try and use the ones you got.

On a side note, its too bad your not closer, I'd hop on down, and fix you right up. (actually, scratch that, you ARE close enough... just that, well, someones gotta cover gas ;) and the time I take off work)

  5. Keep retying the key. Make sure its a HOLO key. Meaning its got holographics. If not. I can see if I got a pro key. People throw out computers all the time and fail to take those key #s :)

Other than that. use the System Builder disc. Both should have same key, and use same key. With the exception of the preinstallation one, which uses another key built on the system.

  6. Test drove a 950, 1300, and Stratoliner last year. I gotta admit, they all worked to my standards well enough. Loved the Strato Deluxe. I could already see the potential dancing in my eyes...

then again... I can see the potential in my Lady, but that potential puts me out some serious heavy duty cash.

But anyway, the Strato was pretty good. Road Liner, I'd imagine the same.

Road Star was essentially a beefed up version of the V-Star Line, and ment to be a bridge between those and the Royal Star, with the Strato being the--well if you don't want that, how about this? bike. The Strato and the Road Liner are essentially the same tho :) Just like the RSTD, and the RSV are the same thing underneath.

  7. Deka AGM is the way to go. Tough, durable and Amercan made.

Check out the web site for the one to fit your bike. Sealed, 12.8 volts.

    http://www.bohannonbattery.com/html/motbat/18lbs.html

Can't beat the price for service and reliabilty. Mine is into it's 4th year and still pulling like the day it arrived.

I bought mine through Bohannon but skydoc_17 here sells them also.

You will find many satisfied DEKA user in the club.

And they are almost local boys for your area.

    Mike

:sign yeah that: Bought mine through our DEKA supplier at work. Damn fine battery. Lot better performance than the wet.

  8. The material on my VR and most of the VR's I've had the pleasure of seeing, is that they're vinyl, so any care and maintenance lubricants for vinyl should work. I use armourall on my seat, and backing. Works well, granted it does not stop my arse from ripping the vinyl from the thread :whistling:

Though after LOOKING at the picture, I'd recommend applying a protective coat too, to make sure water doesn't get in by chance.

  9. Lucky... through stock wiring on the Venture, with the OEM stator, and regulator we would always get 13.8. With the oem, and high capacity, 13.7, 13.8. Now when we plug in the charge suite we have hooked up, which direct connects to the battery, brings everything up to 14.2 at idle, 14.4, 14.6 at speed. Have you checked the Stator and what its outputting?

  10. Be careful with the rain x... my dad used a type of rain x on the Venture shield for a while, and the very interior of the shield has this funky cloud effect inside of it. Its really apparent when light hits it just right >:|

  11. yea... I uh... heh... just lost one of my screws, the top right one... it fell into this slot between the inner right panel, and the outer fairing. Sitting there... smiling at me, taunting at me :rasberry:, telling me any hopes of getting him was LOST... which was true.

I could not find our magnet, no matter where I looked, all I could find was our bleedin' (literally actually, it still, ahem, has some blood on it) Mop Magnet... so I went at it with pliers, and ended up knocking it SOMEWHERE. :255:

I don't know where, I took enough of the right side off to know, its gone (probably wedged somewhere else only to knocked free when I go ride to Madera today) -.-' I got three screws tho! and my K&N is NICE and CLEAN, but... yea.............................

  12. Sounds familure. A friend of mine had such problems. Funny, even got told that he didn't specify a "when to close the account"

The majority of the details are fuzzy, but I do know that he had to go to court for it, and thru it all, got everything squared away. Capital One paid for everything in the end, and more than likely a few people lost their jobs :whistling:

And his dads shop... no longer accepts Capital One cards :stirthepot:

  13. grass, a extension cord, and a laptop, thanks... after changing the oil in the venture, putting on a new oil filter... then relax and watch everyone else, helping, and maybe even learning where I can :)

Already planning. I'm pooling over the three routes Google Maps have given me.

  14. Yeah i got a screw-on adapter sitting on the shelf. Which Bike??

Lady Blue, my 1990 YVR. Took me four hours to find a translation to the HP1005 which is a "wrench on" filter, ya know the one you just need a crescent to put on :D

  15. Lately, I've been hearing of a growing number of PGR escorts for our Troops, and a increase in requests for American Legion Rider escorts, or presence.

Transport yourself safe, and escort with honor.

At our monthly meeting, I'll see to it, his family is in our prayers.
