  1. Warden insisted on black. And we know who wears the pants around here. Almost as fast as a 1st Gen!! New top of the line Dell. Arrived without the windows disk and resource disk. Dell claims we don't send those anymore they are installed. 10 minutes with the Warden and they shipped them out today. No charge...... I could have warned them.....

    Dan,

Most desktops, and laptops don't ship with the disc's, you make your own. It should be under dell in your "all programs"

    Otherwise. Congrats :)

  2. I just love it when someone posts that they are having difficulty picking a bike up, and everyone chimes in with the butt under the seat technique.... Especially when a 5'6" 130# rider says it's a piece of cake..... Well guess what... For us horizontally challenged riders it ain't so easy. It's harder for us to get our butts under the seat because we have more leg to fold up, and when we do it's a bytch to get out of the deep knee bend. So the technique does work, but for a few of us it's still a PITA. Size does matter.... I love to see a video of a 6'6" rider with a few extra pounds on him lift an 800# bike up on it's feet....

    :sign yeah that:

Its not easy to haul a 800 pound mid to high balanced bike off the deck. Which is exactly what Venture Royales are, I'm sorry. I've lifted a 650 (500#s) a HD Ultra Classic (How heavy is that?) and a Honda Gold Wing. Those are all light to heavy low balanced bikes, and they did not give me problems. But the ol Lady does. I can't speak for 2nd gens, but I also haven't ridden any...

Heck, I've had a Rider Coach tell me I was probably lifting her up wrong.... The look on his face when HE lifted her up off the deck was priceless. I got a free lunch for that :D

  3. mmm... I'd like to do EBC, but to get them locally, I'm paying 38$s per pair. I need a full set. After taxes.. 122.33. Which for this month, means, either a new front tire to replace the dry rotting Venom X, or... new brake pads :(

I need a cheaper option >.> or on sale version of EBCs somewhere. If only I had part #s >:|

  4. I'm wondering what kind of brake pads I should get... I mean EBC is great, but incredibly pricy for a whole darn set.

Found this: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/1986-1993-Yamaha-Venture-Royale-Kevlar/dp/B007RGQHIO/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1343848229&sr=8-12&keywords=Venture+Royale+Brake+Pads]Amazon.com: 1986-1993 Yamaha XVZ 13 D Venture Royale Kevlar Carbon Front & Rear Brake Pads: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51nJImUwFVL.@@AMEPARAM@@51nJImUwFVL[/ame]

Don't know if they're good tho. Ebay also has that set too.

  5. wow... funny I read all this... heh.

Ever since I started riding, I never had problems with tailgating, or anything like that... but now that I work, and regularly commute... oh boy.

Its 31 miles to get to work, in that span, 10 miles of it, I will be tailgated, and passed, repeated, while riding at 55 miles per hour.

Who pass me? idiots, or people in unnecessary hurry. It drives me nuts really. And it makes me laugh at times.

My unhappy moment. I was riding home, everythings fine, I'm checkin' my mirrors seein' who's behind me, looking ahead, etc. At this time, I'm riding my dads White 08 Wing. This was when we were waiting on my paycheck to get the new HC stator for the Lady.

Behind me is a 2009 Ford Mustang, silver, last two #s of his plate was 9K oddly enough. Two passengers, and a driver. No one was paying attention even me when they...

Damn near drive me of the $@#@# road to pass me. He got so close to clipping the front of the tire... I was pissed, but nothing I could do. He kept going. (and I was on the highway... go figure)

I wanted to do so many things, but alas. Nothing. I had not seen that Mustang around since then.

    Oh yes, the happy part.

Do not pass someone, when the incoming vehicle a bit ahead is CHP :) (Highway Patrol) Its 300$s or so I'm told, to speed on the road I'm on (its the only road in the county where its a 300$ speeding ticket) but to also get caught speeding and passing, it gets bumped up to 500$ Ticket, plus driving school :D

(That someone being passed was me, I don't speed on that road because of how ticket happy high patrol is on that road)

  6. If its not running the new sata stuff (Sata 6) you can try: http://www.ubcd4win.com/

That comes with a password wiper, just have to select that when you see the UBCD boot screen. Works like a charm.

Once thats all done when you make a new password, on the left, click "CREATE A PASSWORD RESET DISC" :)

That disc is also crazy useful if you cannot boot into safe mode in anyway, and your not running the latest sata stuff, it will boot read your drives, it can do a check disc, and run virus, and anti spyware scans.

  7. Hydro-locked ???:shock3::confused24:

That Venture they got sat for two years without spark plugs. Muchless the holes covered.

Supposedly even had a nest inside too.

    Thanks Dano.

I'd like to try something at least. Because when the Neutral Light clears (and I know I'm geared for neutral), and it no longer says so on the CMS, putting the kickstand down kills the engine. Its a bit of a concern. I'm hoping it also doesn't possibly effect the tci's timing advances.

  8. Whats the cost? As in the plasticy thingy that senses what gear your in.

I was wondering if that was starting to kick the bucket, as the bike after a long ride (60 miles actually) the neutral light will flicker like bonkers, then go out, and the cms gear # goes away. Gear # also goes away in 2nd gear at times before all this, and now 1st.

I'm guessing its time to replace it, yea?

  9. --to nest in the neck of my Venture!

Had spider fly out from the neck and splatter my faceshield today. Surprisingly the sucker managed to stay there for 23 miles. Musta got tired on the 24.6 mile.

Come to think of it, should of taken a picture.... but... I was more concerned with cleaning the bug off.

  10. Found the Harley Vrod to be OK :detective:, but I found the power provided by the Connie 14, FJR, or the Busa to be more my style. In those comparisons, the Vrod is just too slow.

Course, no need to try and compare it to the current VMAX :whistling: now that... that... that was something else.

For me still, Harleys are nice to look at, and ride on loan. Never, ever to own....
