I have two issues with my currant one. 1st the top edge is directly in my line of sight so I have to either slouch or stretch my neck (you texas boys can put your rope away I'm not talking about that kind of stretch). 2nd when riding in rain because, I wear glasse add face shield and windsheild I totally loose visual of the road each time a car aproaches from the opposit direction due to glare. So fri night I picked up the cutdown windsheild Carl (Marcarl) offered me and later today I am going to try it out. If I like it I will cut down my original windsheild.

How about Topeka Kansas for our 2012 International VentureRider Rally ?

Actually a couple of us were comparing the two at Freebirds MD and for all intents and purposes we concluded that the boxes were the same even the holes were drilled in the same places. The differecnce is (A) the parts bolted to the trunk which appear to be fully interchangeable. Any of the unused holes depending on what pieces are attached just have rubber plugs in them. (B) the mounting rack which for the most part is also identacle with the exception that the 85 rack has the additional latch allowing the trunk to be removed and used as a carry case. this appears to simply be an extra part welded to the some frame as used on MKII 86 - 93.

According to the yamaha online parts catalog http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/service/servicehome/home.aspx if it is for a 1984 it takes the same same switch as the 1987. Old part number is 41R-82540-0100 new updated part number is 41R-82540-0200
aftermarket part numbers that applie to both years are 1185858 and 41864-001
1983 does take a different part number that number is 1L9-82540-00-00

I have run a TOM TOM rider 2 for three years now in conjuction with the scala rider and my cell phone and all three work great together. The only downside of the rider is that there is no external speaker and no connection for one. when used for intercom and gps gps comands will take priority over chat.

"She closed her eyes as she continued her 522-foot tumble down Highway 550. "I never lost consciousness," she says, "but I remember wishing that I had." "
Sounds like her idiot friend needs to be dragged behind a car for 522'.
How fast was he going? My guess would be well over 100 mph. to have someone slide almost 1 1/2 foot ball fields... Disturbing to say the least...
Guess the moral to the story is wear protective gear....and, STAY AWAY FROM IDIOTS!
Something I have never understood is why crotch rockets have passanger seats and worse why anyone would perch themselves upon one of these tiny seats to start with.
Wether you are exposed to extreme cold or extreme heat, the one thing that is of the utmost importance is to drink plenty of fluid (preferebly water). In the heat water evaporates (sweat) to help cool the body. In the wind the body also gives off water to prevent the skin from drying out. People have also dehydrated in the extreme cold. DRINK lots of WATER and wear protective gear.

Hello Everyone: Can anyone make a suggestion on hot riding gear for my wife? When it gets hot, she refuses to wear long pants and will not wear her leathers. She enjoys the sun and would rather wear shorts. I prefer she not get on the bike without proper protection. Does someone know of a lightweight protective riding pant that allows good airflow that she could wear over her shorts and then remove easily during stops?
I have seen some light wieght protective chaps that are not made of leather at the bike shows that should fit the bill. Try look on line. Bare in mind some lady,s simply want to catch the suns ray's while riding, not sur there is a lot you can do about that.

Let me add my thanks to the pile as well (before it gets to big). Don and Eileen as always you have done a fanatastic job. It felt more like a warm family reunion then an MD. It was a great weekend, spent with great people, too many to remember or even getting around to spending more time with. So many people I got to chat with, but so many more I only got to simply say hi to, and wished I had got to spend more time with. In the end my goodbyes were sort of rushed, and for that I appologize, but the group I was riding with were ready to roll and waiting on me.
See you all next year if not sooner

It was great seeing you and Alan for the second time Annie. I hope your trip is very eventful, but in a very safe and good way, so you will have lots of great memory's to take home with you.

For the parts you sent me. My class system is working great and my ride to and from MD was a very comfortable ride as a result, the system is now working as it should.
