Sounds like a great day. I went out on Lake Erie last Sunday. They weren't biting. Ended up with one Steelhead just over 5 lbs. At least I wasn't skunked.

I am sad to say that I was notified of the loss of another long time member. Jayceesfolly, Jim Crane, passed away on Friday after losing his battle with cancer. . Please keep his wife, family, and friends in your prayers. I understand that he didn't know he had this dreaded disease until it was too late. If anybody has a good picture of Jim, please forward it to me. Thanks.

No the bowls under the carbs.

Probably a stuck float. Tap on fuel bowls will probably free it. I would check the oil. Probably full of gas.

That's sad. Those are really cool old bikes. I bought one a few years ago just out of nostalgia. Rode it a bit around here but ended up selling it. Thought when I bought out that my son would take an interest but he never really got into it. I understand that it's a tough decision for you.

You are correct that there haver been a handful of issues regarding the top end. Yamaha claimed that it was only a few and it was caused by a mistake at the factory of a proper break in lube not applied. I'm not sure about that but something along those lines. I actually bought a new Star Venture in '18 and actually loved it. I never had an issue of any type but I only kept it for about a year and didn't put that many miles on it. I can tell uyou that it handled great and was a pleasure to ride. I'll admit that it ran hotter than my previous water cooled bikes but I didn't find it to be offensive. The fact is, I was in the process of starting a new business and a lot of other things and just didn't have time to ride so ended up selling it after a year and only about 1400 miles on it. I ended up buying a used bike after that due to the fact that I just still can't seem to find the time to ride like I once did. If I had time though, I would likely own another one.
