  2. Yesterday the weather alternated between rain and snow all day.  I decided to do soma odds and ends on the bikes.  Hadn't checked the air pressure on Eileen's trike tires and found the rears to be over inflated by 10 lbs and the front was 5 lbs low.  Then decided to check the air in the rear suspension.   I apparently I gave away my last Prorgressjive air pump when I sold the last bike so had to go find one.  Found a Harley dealership open about an hour away so drove over to get it.  When I was checking out, the lady asked if I needed anything else and knowing that they don't normally stock Vance and Hines mufflers, I said yea, I need a pair of Vance and Hines mufflers for a 22 Road Glide Limited. She said great, I have a brand new set still in the. box that I ordered for a customer who changed his mind and will make you a good deal on them.  I had planned to eventually buy a set of Vance and Hines Monster Rounds.  These were Vance and Hines Torquer 450's and after doing a bit of research on them  and her knocking $300.00 off the price, I decided to buy them.

Got home and first checked her rear suspesion and found that it was set on. zero. pressure.  Got it adjusted properly. and about that time, Amazon delivered the KuryAkyn highway. pegs I had ordered for her so I. went. ahead and iinstalled them.  So now I'm done with her trike for now at least.  I've added a riders backrest, passenger backrest, KuryAkyn cup holder, phone mount with charger, Windshield pouch, and the highway pegs.  She is good to go.

So then I installed the new mufflers on my Road Glide.  in my opinion, they look and sound great.  At least sitting in the garage.  I actually like them better than the Monster Rounds.  I think the 4 1/2" gives it a considerably deeper sound the the 4" Monster Rounds.  It is a bit louder than stock but not obnoxious.  I'll know more after the weather gets better and I can get it on the   road.

All in all, a fairly productive day.

Tell her to just shut it off, that way she can hear the given instructions better.

    Glad you guys got out.

The issue is that it had to be in neutral for the reverse to work.

  4. Eileen and I managed to get a little ride in today.  Only about 50 miles I think.  All backroads as she is still learning.  She’s going ok but still needs a lot more time in the seat and learning how to find neutral.

From what I can tell it looks like the Edge is the replacement.

Yea, that’s what I thought.  Now to decide if I want to spend over $500.00.    Actually considering the Freedom series.   It might be fine for our use.

  6. Well we picked up Eileen’s trike today.  She had never ridden a trike and asked me to ride it home.   It was about an hour away and mostly 75. - 80 MPH on the turnpike.  Temperatures were in the mid to high 50’s so brisk but not cold.  The bike rides nice.  I was a bit concerned because Harley trikes all have solid rear axels.  It wasn’t as smooth as the RSV trike but handled surprisingly well.  It is a bit lighter trike than most and the M8 107 engine feels very strong. First time in years that road a bike without full upper fairing and lowers and it was very windy today.  It has a big windshield but I still got a lot of wind.   When we got it home, i got on my bike and with her on the trike, we went for a short ride.   She loves it but was more than a bit nervous.  It will take some time.   Hopefully she will stick with it and get comfortable on it.

  7. Don, right now the bikes are in the garage.  I'm having a problem finding someone to get them out so I can take pictures.  For the blue Hannigan, I'm asking $33,500.  That includes the bushtec tag-along.  Joe just had it painted to match the bike.  It has new tires, and has not even been on the road yet.  The Hannigan is a 2013 with only 18,500 miles on it.  He also bought a black hauler for the trike.  It's only been on the road twice.  He didn't have a chance to customize it on the inside.  I'm asking $10,000 for it. My money is pretty tight, so getting these sold would be a huge relief for me.  Thanks!!

  8. Don, right now the bikes are in the garage.  I'm having a problem finding someone to get them out so I take pictures. The 2nd gen Venture has 44,000  miles on it.  It is the black cherry red.  I'm asking $5,500.  It includes the black tag-along trailer.   Debbie indicated that she is willing to haggle with a serious buyer.

contact Debbie Douglas on Facebook or me and I’ll reach her for you.

  9. Looking for recommendations for bike to bike communications without breaking the bank.  I know that Sean and Carlo ar about the most popular but also expensive.  What do you that have them recommend?   I basically just want cokm8jnicaitons between my wife and I and for her to be able to stream music from her phone to her headset.

LOOKS like a nice ride for  a harley! sorry' harley's just don't do nothin for me. hope she has many great miles and adventures on it! :thumbsup2::innocent-emoticon:

LOL....that's ok my friend.  I didn't expect a lot of love here for the Harley.  Most people here know that I've bounced back and forth over the years between the Venture and the Harely.  I love them both.

Congrats on the new trike.  Definitely ride it home and take the long route.  lol

LOL.....it may be a bit cool for that.  Most direct route is about an hour.  She wants me to get home quick so she can hopefully take e a little ride before  it gets too cold.  Temps are supposed to drop again after tomorrow.

Awesome!  Wish my wife would get back on a bike.  Even with me. She was on a spyder and it's hard on her shoulders. On top of that she was almost hit by a Semi crossing the yellow line.  Now I think she's too scared.

I understand.  My wife hasn't ridden with me in q while except a couple of very short rides.  Her health hasn't been good but she has wanted her own trike for a while now and got really excited about getting one a month or so ago.  So I finally saved in and bought her one.  Not sure how long before she decides it's not doable but we'll see.
