LOL! have looked at all of those but I'm only looking to spend about $9500.00....there are a few around that fit the bill other then they are black, and the boss doesn't like the black...she says they look too much like a Harley. She is trying to slow me down on the hope that "the right one" will come up soon. Lost out on two nice ones I was watching....a nice Raven Red one and a two-tone green....oh well...I'll keep looking.

The Wing is a great bike in many respects but the seating position was causing my hip all kinds of problems...couldn't rider for more then about 20 minutes at a time! So...the Wing sold last night and I am now seriously hunting for a 2nd Gen.....something between 2003-2007 perhaps....really like some of the various red/purple or the two-tone green colours available. There are some really nice one listed here in the classifieds....the biggest problem for me is the distance to get to them....it would be a two trip adventure and can get expensive with the greater distances....... Anyway.....I hope you will put up with what may seem like stupid questions once I buy a bike but this will be my first 2nd Gen so there will be a learning curve. It is great to be back!!!! Looking forward to some meet N greet opportunities.

Am looking at numerous 2nd Gens and some do not have a driver's backrest......does the ability to add a backrest depend on which seat is one the bike? How much grief is there to adding a backrest? Thanks.

I just rode one last night...it's a 2001 that belongs to hngrider....was trying it out as I was thinking about one of them as well....the problem for me is that the seating position puts your feet closer to your backside then I can handle...that is what is causing my issues with my Wing that I have to sell. Other then that, it is a wonderful machine and it if weren't for my hip problem with the seating psoition, I would buy one in a heartbeat....that's just me though.

The two I looked at are at Zdeno's...waiting for a return call with more details. Might take more time next week to go have a better look and see what they really need, depending of course on what they're asking for these bikes. Can't do much until I sell my Wing......

I am looking at two different 2nd Gens that each have some hopefully just cosmetic damage...was hoping to get some quick numbers to help me figure out the cost of repairing.....how much is the cowling ( not sure if that's the right name for it ) that surrounds the rad? Thanks

As soon as my Wing sells, I want to pick up a 2nd Gen Venture...somewhere between approx. 2003-2008......were there any inherent issues with any specific years that I should be watching out for? Thanks.

The IT band issue has been corrected through physio and that pain is totally gone......except I suffer similar pain while seated on the Wing.....

Well......I sold my 1st gen Venture in 2009 and was looking for a 2nd Gen everywhere.....could not find one that was in my price range....stumbled across a nice 2000 Goldwing so I bought it......very nice bike.....excellent motor....quiet and smooth....but since then developed an I.T. band syndrome, which is a long tendon that attaches below the knee, runs up the outside of the leg, over the hip and up to the top of the butt....was very painful...couldn't ride, couldn't even sit in a chair....before being diagnosed, I thought I needed a new hip, it hurt that bad. Anyway...couple months of physio and the situation is almost completely gone....except when I tried to ride. Couldn't even handle a 45 minute ride......the seating/foot position on that bike has your feet almost under your hips.....couldn't do it anymore....rode a friends 2nd gen for an hour and guess what....no pain at all......so I'm back.....the Wing is for sale and as soon as it goes, I'll be shopping hard for a 2nd gen..........you guys are stuck with me.....again!
