  1. Does anyone know what size the screw is for the cap of our brake reservoir on a 99 venture? I'd like to be able to stop by Ace on the way home and pick up the correct one the first time.
  2. Is it just plug and play? What kind of rewiring? How does it mount? Joe
  3. I'm pretty much in need of an emergency fuel pump. I'm curious if there is a cross reference number to a Holley fuel pump that I can buy at AutoZone or Discount Auto Parts? Does anyone know of anything like this?
  4. Ok. let me start by saying, I can't afford new air filters. Mine are good, (really old though) and the gasket has disintegrated. What would you make a new gasket out of? 1. 1/4" foam 2. cardboard. 3. Your suggestion? Thanks!
  5. Two completely different cylinders. I've had Mike Eyekamp(sp?) Go over everything with me.
  6. also going to point out there was a good bit of fuel in the oil, so I'm thinking/hoping/praying thatthe cylinder that was causing the hot pipe wasn't lubricated correctly. Guess we'll see. It had great compression btw.
  7. The carbs were actually never gone into, in 20 years of the bike. The guy who sold it to me, it would seem, basically cleaned them enough to get it started. (spray can). and then lied all the way to the bank. I'm ordering a fresh set from The Diamondcut guy and going to put those on. Correct. the rear cylinders had a lot of carbon buildup. Specifically the left rear. Changing plugs and carbs and going to see how it performs from there. Riding like a scalded dog to see if I can clean them out some, then another compression test.
  8. I've already done all that and have come to the conclusion that there was so much carbon in the rear cylinders that it is not allowing the valves to set. So I'm getting the carburetors done and going to burn the hell out of it
  9. I think my carbs were so far out of whack, that my valves aren't seating correctly. So first thing is getting the carbs done and riding the hell out of it.
  10. Anything I need to know? Any little tips and tricks anyone uses to do a compression test on these?
  11. Count me in. WHile I may let someone else do the carb rebuild, I need a good syncer (is that a word? IT IS NOW!)
  12. See now that would make sense to me. You'd think I'd have felt the brake being locked up (and possibly heard it). but sadly the heat pattern is definitely the entire length of the bag, I will check the manifold. Thanks!
  13. Ever figure out the cause? Did you just add some extra spacers? Joe
  14. No I'm not 10000% sure. I'm hoping it was prior and somehow, I missed it, but I dont think so.
