  1. Just did mine .Watched and helped my yamaha tech do it.its a pain in the butt to get to the connectors, they are under the tank, down by the right side of steering head. All said and done it took about an hour.Yamaha will probably only pay a half hour.
  2. Yes im pulling with a Gen 3.Gonna load up again and go upstate NY camping soon.Bushtec needs tires first.
  3. HI, try looking at BIGBIKEPARTS, thry have a heat deflector for the venture,i think the brand is Hopnel.
  4. My cam wore a hole in my lifter at 3200 miles.I posted this a few months back in late july.Yamaha replaced it all .runs great still does not sound that good.MECHANIC SAID EVERYTHING ELSE LOOKED PERFECT.I think these motor do not sound good.it just is what it is,in my opinion.Stand by the exhaust to grt the good sound, not by the motor.
  5. I feel the same way,I like a large bike I wonder how sales are going for the new wing.
  6. I absolutely loved my 2nd gen and put 30 k on it without any issues whatsoever.Just normal wear and tear items. And almost shed some tears at the unveiling of the 3rd gen when they introduced it as an air cooled v twin. But purchased it anyway because i was simply ready for a change and loved all the goodies the bike has as well as the looks of it.I admit i love the bike but not the motor.I just dont like the power delivery as much as the v4.Yes it has more power/torque but i think the v4 is smoother and shifts smoother also.I would still pick the gen 3 over the gen2 again, but will miss my gen2 a bit.If Honda didnt screw up the 18 wing, that would have been an option.Im 99% 2 up and need all the storage possible.
  7. Thanks my Dealer is awesome.and my serial ends with 0754.I ordered my bike the day of the unveiling at lake george june 5 2017.Fell in love with the looks of the bike and was ready for a change from the 2nd gen .Still wish it was a water cooled engine other than a v twin. The handling makes me forget about the engine, and all the other goodies.Still have complaints with a few little things though.
  8. So, I will keep this as short as possible, but i do know how you feel with a broken bike.I too have a new 18 svtc.My motor started sounding terrible at 3200 miles,as I was touring about 5oo miles from home.Sounding only bad at idle ha ha I decided to keep going on with my vacation into Canada.IM from New Jersey.Anyway,Motor went bang And shut down.I knew it was something internal.Got towed to a dealer in Quebec,Got arental car, went to Mont TRemblant ,my original destination and Called my dealer in Jersey.Who would have brought me his Demo SVTC but couldnt find a driver with a passport. After my time at MOnt Tremblant, took rental car to airport and flew home.Canadian dealer said he couldnt even look at bike for 2 weeks,so he stored it at no cost, until my dealer went to get it.My cam wore a hole into the lifter.Rear cylinder exhaust lifter.Dealer had my cam, lifter and all other associated parts in 3 days, and completed a day later. So my dealer is putting in a claim to get reimburse for my expeses, for car and airplane flight.Wich is around $1600.The bad thing is that was my big tour trip of the year and didnt go to alot of places i would have gone on the bike. The Nissan centra rental car really didnt get my blood pumping like the bike.So I hope that is the end of this type of problems.I wish you luck in getting your bike repaired in a timely fashion.I dont know of anyone else with this problem, but hope there isnt many more.
