  1. The part numbers match so it should fit. I am not worried about small scratches and consider it a challenge to fix them. Let me know how you want to handle the shipping and I can do paypal or android pay or old fashioned check.

I have my oem windscreen off my 83 venture, pretty sure it fits but, the reason i replaced it was because of some scratches on it.
  2. Great thread! I would like to second the MSF courses also just because. I started riding before I had a drivers license back in the day but had a 10 year hiatus before starting back up a couple years ago. I took the BRC at the local harley dealer and used their bikes. It was a blast and emphasized all slow speed maneuvers and taught me that I wasn't even close to knowing everything I thought I knew. I took the advanced course last fall and it has really helped. The one thing most reviewed was that no one wants to practice the slow stuff and no one wants to practice what to do in an emergency. I haven't ridden in three months and my first stop will be a local parking lot with some small cones to practice.

  3. Time to update thread:

I have a stock 89 1st Gen windshield. Free. I'll even pay shipping unless you are on the moon or Mars :yikes:

It's well used but probably good for someone who wants/needs a screen to cut down for a warm weather screen. The PO did try to get most of the film off...so it probably can be buffed out nicely. I used it until I could find the bux to get a new screen.

So Pay It Forward time..... it's boxed and ready to go.

I will bite and I'm all for this idea of paying it forward. I need the 89 stock windshield if it is still available and I will offer up my current shorty windshield when I get get it replaced. I love this forum!

  4. Many of the smaller Methodist churches have "part time" pastors when the congregation can't afford to pay the salary for a full time pastor. These "part time" pastors are often given several small congregations to serve. It is a full time job for them and often requires a great deal of driving on Sunday mornings to get to the churches on time and dedication to serving often diverse groups over a wide area. Not to mention visiting the sick, shut-ins and the weddings, funerals and everything else they get to deal with.

    Good for you Rev.

I gotta ask the question though; how is it that one pastors 3 churches? Or even 2 for that matter? All of the pastors I've ever known, were doing all they could just to take care of and pastor 1 church. With all the needs of the congregation and preparing for sermons and such, their plates always seem to be full. You must be like a pastoring stud to be tackling multiple churches. Lol.

Glad you're getting to be closer to your family.

  5. There have been a few posts about the bikes that we started with or have owned but how about just Yamaha bikes? I don't have pictures of all of mine but here are a few from the past. I can think of an '83 Venture Standard that I can't find a picture for and also a Yamaha 200 street model years ago...it was a 4 stroke but I don't remember the model. Probably more too but I don't remember. Oh....and a 535 Virago....

I do love those two strokes!

  6. I just bought my 89 Venture Royale in August with 37000 miles and I absolutely love it. It's not exactly what you are looking for but you shouldn't turn one down based solely on the model year. It looks great and runs like nobody's business. It will probably get me my first ticket just because it is smooth and you really don't realize how fast you are going. :cop:

  7. Hi all,

Hope everyone was enjoying the weekend. I participated in my first benefit ride for the local VA PTSD program and it was a blast! 130 miles made this my longest ride with this new bike and my wife came along as a passenger on both open four lane and some twisties. No problems and 38 mpg. This bike really likes to go, had to keep my eyes on the speedo or I would find myself exceeding the limit by a significant amount. Total of over 200 miles for the weekend and I couldn't happier! Cheapest therapy around.:big-grin-emoticon:

  8. They are very important and are still available from Yamaha. What you need is parts 4 & 5 from the oil filter parts fiche. Here is a link from Partshark.com to the proper page. http://www.partshark.com/oemparts/a/yam/5107f835f870022108d65768/oil-filter

You can order from them or just check your local dealer and see if he has them in stock but I will do it sooner then later.

    Welcome to the group.

    Rick F.

I had the spring ordered today. My local dealer had three of the washers in stock, I guess a lot of them get thrown away.
