  1. The book says sync the carbs at six months. Is this a must do?
  2. Thanks for responding. Steve I purchased one of your P&P for a trailer I should have been more descript. I am looking for LEDs for the side of my saddle bags. To be seen better from the side.
  3. I want to light up the trunk with an LED strip. Need suggestions on brands that have good adhesive . Can they be wire to my parking wire directly without issue? Or if you have a a better ides please let me know. Pictures would be great. Thanks again, David
  4. I love the stuff, however, do you guys use it and if so how often. My bike has 4000 miles on it. Loves 87 octane. Thank-you David
  5. Hi guys, Have some questions: How do you gain access to the CB? Are the connections to the CB standard or if I wanted to connect a new antenna to the CB is there an adaptor, if so, what is it. Pictures of one would be great. Thanks David
  6. I sincerely appreciate all the input. I attached some pictures as requested, and my solution. First as mentioned by a previous member the OEM wind shield has a blackened sticker at the bottom converging into little black dots to cover any misalignment. I replaced everything as indicated. So, with that, here you go: 1. Is the gap with the new wind shield. 2 & 3 are painted with Rustoleum suitable for plastic. Cleaned taped and scoured up a little. Also, the new shield had one hole that did not line up, that's why there's the impressive drilling. Interesting, I don't see this model on Bagger Shields site today. IDK why. Thanks again guys, your a great help. LE: I was told not to put tint on a plastic product, as it off-gasses and causes bubble.
  7. Bert2006, My issue was resolved with a previous post. Otherwise, I would have attached pics. Thanks for everyone's help. David
  8. That's it exactly!!! It is missing the black which hides any potential offset. Thanks a lot. David
  9. By Proud, are you saying the the space above the chrome strip is lower than the inside dash.
  10. I put the tall windshield on today. All went well, however, I have some questions. Took Plastic chrome strip off, no problems. Installed new windshield, only issue was the far right screw hole did not line up and drilled a new one. No big deal. All is installed and on the left side above the chrome strip I can see about a 1/4 inch down into the fairing. The inside dash is slightly lower than the outside fairing. The right side is fine. All screws went back in with no problem. I never noticed the slight misalignment before. Will you guys check and se if you can see a separation allowing you to see some of the wire inside the fairing behind the windshield please. Also, the chrome strip wants to pop up if I lift it at the bottom pretty easily and I did not break any tabs. I figured out a way to secure that. Thanks guys.
  11. I was wondering if there are alternatives to mounting the OEM highway lights. Looking for a bullet size bright light that would mount on the front. I want the light and the visibility. Thanks for any input, options or even pictures. David
  12. Thank-you very much.
  13. I have the standard rails for my RSV. I dn't have the instructions.Could someone please explain how they attach and if drilling is required etc.. Pictures would really help. Thanks a lot, David
  14. Please, put non-synthetic gear lube in the final drive (Bel-Ray Hypoid Gear Oil) again, final drive only. If it has had synthetic in it, switch back to YamaLube and drive it for thousands of miles. Conversely, if it has Yamalube in it switch to Mobil 1 10-40 Rt motorcycle oil. Always use Yamaha filters, I don't trust the market in regards to that. I just bought a new one myself, and switched the final drive to synthetic and it started bad. Drained it right away and went to the dealer and got the aforementioned lube. Much better!! It will most likely always have that whine in certain gear and speed and throttle ranges. Nature of the beast, but not ear busting. Also, now your locked in to the sound. If it gets better, relax and quit doing what I do. Dear Gosh, was that a louder squeal??? These are incredible bikes. I could have bought a GW, nope. I did put the links on and that made a huge difference in handling. David
  15. Thanks guys!!
  16. Looking for suggestions on a taller windshield for my 2013 RSV. Any idea's? Thanks David
  17. What a tremendous difference in ease of handling and clearance the links have made!! Thanks guys, what a huge help this site is!! Also, Diamond was a great company to work with. David
  18. As mentioned, it seems not to many shops are familiar with the RSV. Mines not, nice guy just doesn't deal with many RSV's. Does anyone know of a shop relatively close to St. Louis that has a top notch RSV Mechanic. Just in th event I need warranty work? Thanks David.
  19. Is there a standard air pressure people run in the forks and rear? I realize the variables how ever I am at 7psi in the rear and 0psi in the forks. No explanation from the dealer. Thanks David
  20. After reading many posts relative to leveling links, I have two questions: Does it affect the way you are positioned/sitting on the bike while riding? Hence, are you leaning forward or more vertical? I prefer the lean back, feet on the highway pegs position. Other than Diamond, does anyone else fabricate these, if so who? Thank-you David
  21. I realize there are a variety of filters to utilize on the market. My primary question is are K&N air filters okay to utilize on these bikes? Also, do you can and truly manufacture an oil filter that is within the same specs of the Yamaha filters? I certainly don't intend to establish a debate I just want to know from those of you who utilize those products. I've heard to stick with the Yamaha oil filter due to the internal/valve pressures and so on. I don't know if that is nonsense or if in fact it's true.
  22. The only problem I had with the OEM seat and back rest was that small void right in the needed lumbar (lower back) support area. I stopped by a seat repair shop and we utilized foam in that area till there was the support I was looking for. Now he will fabricate it and cover it with black leather or vinyl and I will Velcro it to the post. So it will fit btween the ttop of the seat and the bottom of the back rest. Preliminary worked great, did the same for the passenger. Just thought I would pass it on. David
  23. I assume my 2013 RSV has a 5 wire set-up, therefore requiring a 5 to 4 adaptor. Can this be placed under the driver seat and tap into the wires that run over the rear fender? Also, what hitch do most seem to utilize? Thank you very much. David
  24. Thank-you, I was never told about a sight glass. My paperwork is at home. I want to confirm its near the right knee.
  25. On vacation and hit 600 miles and have to change the oil. No real choice but t go with Mobil 1 RT synthetic 10-40. Please advise on how many quarts with new filter? Thank-you David 2013 RSV
