  1. Well I believe two of the four carburetors are clogged from sitting for three years after a divorce. Typically, what is the cost to have them torn apart and cleaned up? I live in the St. Louis Missouri area does anybody have any suggestions on where to take it? Thanks so much, David
  2. , Hey everyone, the 2013 RSV has sat for three years as a result of an illness . Two of the four carbs are operating, the other two must be gummed up. It starts, however, she’s not running rough. There is a quarter tank with minimal amount of Seafoom added from before I got ill. Should I just take it to the dealer, or do you have any suggestionsThanks so much, David
  3. I don't understand your point, relative to my post. Ok, he makes them at home, as many people that sell an add-on do for RSV's on this site.
  4. I bet they are done. The market seems to be saturated with touring bikes, and the GW eats allot of the sales. It would have to be one hell of a transition to compete, and very expensive to redesign. Hell, our 13's still have a cassette deck, helloooooo.
  5. With my prior bikes I enjoed the blue-tooth technology in regards to answering my phone. I now own a 2013 RSV and went with the EDSets intercom set-up and am very pleased. However, I wanted blue-tooth and Ed has developed BlueStreak, which undoubtedly is top of the line. I placed my order for a cost of $250 plus s/h. Then received an email that I also needed an $80 mic splitter. So I decided for $330 plus, I can pull over and answer my phone. In-fact I used to have the Sena's and I wonder if there is a way to integrate. I'm not bashing EdSets at all, just to expensive for this set-up.
  6. Thanks guys, I think I'll go with the proper torque instead of breaking out the ten foot cheater bar!!!
  7. What do I torque the drain plug down to on the oil pan thanks guys I don't have my book
  8. What is the size of the O-ring for washer for the drain plug on the 2013 RSV thank you
  9. I agree Don. honestly it is my fault. I just can't figure out what part # it is or looking at the diagram which part is the correct reference.
  10. One end nut plate on the bracket is stripped and two of the other holes where the bolt would tighten the shield in just seem that I am twisting rubber and does not snug up. The two large center bolts I was referring to are the ones that hold the bracket to the bike.
  11. I have removed the windshield several times and have either stripped our knocked the mounting nuts that would be attached on the back of the mounting bracket located at the top of the picture. I guess I need to replace this, if anyone knows the part number or any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks guys, David
  12. I do have the larger E3 on the front and have the same attributes as he described. I don't think it is the narrow tire, it is just a great fit for my bike.
  13. If you are referring to my last post. I did go with the oem or suggested tire size by Yamaha. Regardless, it made a huge difference in ride, ease of turning and traction. As I said, I spoke with a Mich. engineer, and he stated these were made for heavy long distance touring bikes and tread design was engineered for optimum traction in hot, wet and normal conditions. Their weight capacity and speed rating make them a good fit for my bike.
  14. Well said, good way to end this. Enjoy and please be safe. David
  15. Hi guys, hope all had a good Thanksgiving. Where can I find mirror extensions as I have searched and can't find any. Thanks
  16. Good gosh, ABS is a nice feature. Third time I said it. However, clearly the majority performed a panic stop, did not keep a proper safety distance, weren't paying attention and clearly the Lead rider had no business in front. I teach advanced rider courses and had to E stop on a wet off ramp with two upl. Sure am glad I took and teach the class, as I love that RSV. BTW, Yamaha just sent me a nice new Star-Pod...IPOD for free to connect to my auxillary input. Plus the option to utilize their CD player if I want. CB which I love . Also, all the options guy's make and sell far cheaper then Kuryakyn. Grateful for this site.I'm done, be safe and enjoy your ride. Goldwings are simply not a fit or the ride I want.
  17. ABS is a nice safety factor. If it's wet, and you lock em with ABS down ya go. Ihere is a very effective way to emergency stop without them, if you don't panic and lock em. Again, they are nice. However, I would go with a Vic long before I'd go with a GW. Plus I like the fairing to turn with the handle bars. Anyway, enjoy and be safe,
  18. I described the attributes of a GW. Tried different seats and pegs. Rode one a good distance. Bottom line is I like the RSV better. It has a lot more to offer me as an individual than a GW. As said, I feel like I am riding a motorcycle. Additionally, I did not want to turn my bank account over to Kuryakyn sp? to purchase what comes stock on my RSV. Yes, reverse would be nice, ABS would be nice. However, not having it has not been a factor. I ride two up all the time. I can barely roll into a stop and my feet are firmly planted when stopped. There are GW's with 500K and there are RSV's with 500K. Yes, there was a whine with the GW, not as bad as the RSV. My wife did not like the comfort of the rear seat. First thing she said was" foot peg's??" Enjoy your bikes, hell I have a group of friends that went with Harleys, now they bought into that cult and hardly want to ride. It's unbelievable
  19. I apologize id I posted this in the wrong category. Honestly, I did not see the Poll section, With that said, after several hundred miles on the E3's, the handling has changed significantly. I barely have to push on the bars to get her into a lean/turn. Virtually no front end weight with the links and these tires. I had to get used to them, as I was "over turning" often in the beginning.
  20. I road a 2015 GW yesterday just to satisfy my curiosity. They are very well balanced, and have a smooth quiet engine. I am 6'4" and I did not fit. If I wanted to put my feet on highway pegs, my legs were spread way the hell out and my calves rubbed the fairing. Granted it is a nice bike, but for the money my RSV just can't be beat. Thanks to this site you can get many extra options made by members at a reasonable price. So with that, I felt like I was riding a toy, if you will on the GW and a motorcycle on my RSV. I'm not a GW basher, just not as impressive as I was hoping and expecting.
  21. What a tremendous difference in both traction, ride, quietness and handling. Excellent tire for this bike and manufactured exclusively for our heavy touring bikes. Thank-you all for your input,David
  22. Decided to go with the E3s, OEM size. Although the tread does not look like it will grip as well in wet conditions, the engineer told me they were made exclusively for heavy touring bikes and all weather conditions. Thanks for your input guys, David
  23. Consider the F4 Windshield, I really like mine. Just a suggestion.
