  1. You want to use a wax that is only wax with no grit. Most waxes have a grit for paint leveling, this is where you get the swirls from. A pure wax is just that wax, johnsons wax in a can or old fashion simonize also in the can. Simonize is a hard wax and will last longer whereas Johnsons is soft. Use a new micro fiber cloth to apply, take off, and buff out.
  2. Been ruuning the Dunlop 404's for almost 14 years been getting around 9-10k on my crappy Illinois roads. Just used to them but I always recommend to look at the type of riding you do and your conditions you frequent. Look to see if you need performance or wearability because you usually cannot have both. It is a matter of the tire compound softer compounds give you better handling, harder givers you better wear. Do you ride in wet conditions or dry this determines the tread type. Then look at the manufacturer, I usually go with companies that have been in business for at least a half century over someone who just came on the scene. The old boys are still in business for good reasons.
  3. I have been riding my 96 for over 14 years and don't have that problem, guess the old girl is part of me now. I am to the point now, since I do all my own service and repairs that anything out of the ordinary kinda sticks out. I know the feel of all the controls and where they are.
  4. I had the same thing happen to me on the way to work, went to the hardware store got replacement bolt and washer from the chrome section. Got the strongest set threadlock and problem has been solved for over ten years now.
