I don't know what size the speakers are, but they only give you two of them unless you upgrade to the top of the line.

You did this... http://www.motorcyclecannonball.com ..in 36 hours? Took a friend of mine over 2 weeks a couple of years ago.

I heard they were making a comeback, thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

Some of the people I work with will be spending some time with insurance adjusters over the next few days. Windows, roofs and cars took a big hit. I was fortunate to miss the worst of it.

You could try pulling all the fuses and put them back in one at a time. Then see if you can find the short. If you can read the circuit diagrams, you could try to find it with a meter.
Patience is the hardest thing to master with electrical issues. At least for me.

Thanks for the tip, Frank. I do have the rear control sitting on the shelf. I can use one of those buttons on the handlebar unit.

Is it still covered under warranty? Get the shop to check the points. Maybe you could get a new pump out of them.

Yamaha says the engine oil tank is integrated into the subframe. Maybe that is the reason for the bars around the front? I am sure I would not drop a $25,000 bike, but someone else could!

I wonder what damage will be done if it drops in a parking lot? It has no engine guards/crash bars. Dealers will be doing a lot of plastic repair/replace for a lot of $$$. They are not even an option that I could find.

I discovered one of my buttons is gone from my handlebar audio controls. It is off the Mute button, but they are all the same. Does anybody have one I could acquire for a reasonable chunk of change? If anyone has an entire unit with a good face-plate, I would consider buying it, since my face-plate is now a 3D printed replacement (not pretty).

I think it's funny that they release a monster sized motorcycle with an air cooled engine, but all of their snowmobiles use liquid cooled 3 or 4 cylinder engines.

If you know the torque peak and RPM's where it happens, you can calculate the HP. That is what a dyno does, anyway.

There is one at Treasure Island Resort on the Mississippi river in July. Only about 1-1/2 hour ride for me. I hope I can swing it.

Perhaps the low mileage tells the story. They haven't been ridden much. Not unusual at all for motorcycles to not be ridden much and then the owner sells rather than keep paying insurance and suffering depreciation or making payments in one of those situations. One owner did say he was in the military and was being transferred as his reason.
I saw an ad for a used BMW once that had that story line and turned out to be a scam. The guy could not show the bike "because he was on a military base. Wanted me to pay through a fake ebay site. I answered him I could look at it because I am a vet working for a military contractor and would be on his base soon. Never heard back. Didn't think I would.

If you want a V-twin, air cooled, belt drive touring bike; buy a Hardley.

Yup, you never know until you know!

Yamaha does have a 1049cc boosted triple in the snowmobile chassis shared with Arctic Cat that puts out around 200 ponies. It is light and scary fast. They definitely created their own segment in that market.

You should not have to use a screwdriver to adjust idle. Thumb and finger on the knobs of the screw should do it.

Check valve clearance.

Maybe the CCA vs. total amp capacity is based on whether it is a starting battery or a deep cycle battery? One needs to be able to discharge quicker (safer) and the other need more total storage.

Owner's Manual?

They are adjustable clear plastic panels bolted to the sides of the fairing to direct air around you or on you. They were sold as Ventureline accessories or as aftermarket. One of mine must have hit a bird or a doorway before I bought the bike, because it pulled out the top mount and cracked the upper right fairing. It is patched and reinforced now.

The best thing to have are the "air wings". Between them and the vents in the lowers and the side covers, I can pretty much be comfortable anywhere, anytime (as long as I am moving).
