pulling U joint out

okay what is the quickest way to jerk this U joint out on the 86's which is located under the rubber boot on the forend of the drive shaft? :scratchchin:

Take the Wheel out

remove the Final Drive

undo the Shock Connection to the the Linkage

undo Shock Linkage

undo Swingarm

undo Rubber Boot

open the thee Bolts on rear left of the Casing

undo three Bolts around the U-Joint

pull the Unit out of the Casing

place Unit in a Vise

undo the C-Clips on the Cross of the U-Joint

undo the rear Half of the U-Joint

open Nut on the front Half of the U-Joint

undo U-Joint

okay so that pinion gear comes out, then work on the universal joint, know one thing for sure there is going to be a few achore bolts put in the floor of the shop. it's to tough on the constitution, having the bike balanced on the bike jack, thanks for the tips, pete

You can do it sitting on the centre stand, where the front tire can be on the floor, as well. :2cents:

yup that is where she is now, but i just needed some height to get the rear wheel out from under the bags, should have her together this weekend yet, got crappy work hours this weekend but will have her ready for the P I P:thumbsup2:
