I recently purchased a set of IMC-HS-G45U-FIVE PIN HELMETLESS HEADSET with lower cords from Sierra Mc Electronics. Here is the problem. When I plug them in there is such a terrible noise that you cant' even get them close to your ears. I'm not sure what I need to do. Any help would be great, thanks

Check and make sure your Intercom volume is down. Intercom is an open mike system so if the Volume is too loud you will get a bunch of noise. Also check CB Squelch and set it high enough that no static comes through

Just my ideas.

Check the ground, that will create noise as well.

Let me know what you think of these headsets. I have considered getting some myself. I'd like to know how they sound, and if you can hear ok while running at highway speeds.

I appreciate your input.

Ride safe.

They are fine the only issue is after a couple of hours they start buggin your ears, cause they simply rest ao them. they are not mounted to the helmet. However I have found that with the half helmet without the "liner" around the strap you can simply use the helmet to support the ear peices. The mic seesm to be fine. We are able to hear and communuicate okay without them but when traveling with others it seems better. For the $$$ they are well worth the investment.
