uncledj Posted 2 hours ago #1 Posted 2 hours ago Took my 06 RSV into a local shop last Spring for new tires an oil change and to resolve an occasional miss. They told me they replaced a fouled plug and that resolved the miss. OK.... Didn't sit right with me as I'd replaced the plugs maybe 4k ago, but whatever. She ran pretty good but I still got an occasional bit of smoke from the one side, ...same side as before. I ran it for about a thousand miles with no change. Very rideable but I knew something was still a bit off. Trailered it to Vogel and rode it the first day, but the second day the miss became a problem to the extent that I didn't trust it. Lisa and I went "antiquing" instead. I took it back to the same shop...(I trust these guys)....They had it for a week and I just picked it up and it ran better than it had in years. Smooooth idle, good throttle response. So I obviously asked what was going on and they said there was a fouled seat on a carb and leaking crossover tubes? I'm guessing those are the tubes that carry fuel between the carbs. Anyhoo, The owner said they should have looked into it a little better when they last had it, and since I've been a good customer, NO CHARGE. Cool. I'm a mechanic myself, so I understand how this stuff goes sometimes, so I was willing to pay for service they hadn't provided before, but was happy to see that customer service isn't dead. So....A shout out to Mobile Cycle Works in Ashley, Ohio. Thanks to John and Dane (Owner and son) for doing what it takes to keep customers happy.😀 1
