BradT Posted May 27, 2008 #1 Posted May 27, 2008 (edited) My CB started acting up on my 99. THe other evening it worked but I could not hear anyone, but they could hear me. Then it started working again. The next day it seemed to cut in and out on certain bumps. I removed the trunk checked all the connections and still had the problem. Removed front fairing checked all the wires again. I put Dielectric grease on all the connectors, zip tied the cables. Still could not isolate any particular wire as the cause. I even removed the CB and the Main controller (I believe this is what is in the front fairing). Cleaned the ground wire and presently it is working, but have not had a chance to test it on a ride. Did I miss any connectors under the tank ? Anyone have a similar problem ? If so did you fix it and how ? Brad Edited May 27, 2008 by BradT
Gary N. Posted May 27, 2008 #2 Posted May 27, 2008 Brad, It could be in your patch cord. Try a known good headset. Also what does your truck have to do with the CB on your bike???? "I removed the truck checked all the connections" And what's a faiting? "Removed front faiting "
BradT Posted May 27, 2008 Author #3 Posted May 27, 2008 Gary, I just proof read and corrected the spelling. I can not hear through the speakers on the bike nor the headsets. THis happens when the head sets are plugged in or not. BRad
