Kretz Posted October 3, 2016 #1 Posted October 3, 2016 Can someone please tell me the purpose of the "bike lift frame", I think it's fixed under the bike when using a side lift. Is is just so the lift forks can effectively mate (albeit indirectly) with the bike frame & thus avoid any "undercarriage" protrusions. I've never raised my RSTD on a hydraulic lift, must admit I'm a bit wary as it's not a light bike! Thanks in advance for any info.
Freebird Posted October 3, 2016 #2 Posted October 3, 2016 Look at the engine from below and you will see that it extends down below the frame. There is no way to lift the bike in a stable manner and also to not put pressure on the engine without the adapter or some type of spacers between the lift and the frame.
