bongobobny Posted May 11, 2016 Share #3 Posted May 11, 2016 If you read his profile, it is an '89 Royale. The master cylinder reservoir is on the right side bolted to the frame a ways behind the brake pedal. You have to remove the saddlebag to access it properly. the reservoir sets above the actual master cylinder and is connected by a rubber hose. The Fill plug sets at an angle. Be VERY careful unscrewing the plug, many have broken the neck right off of the body. It should be filled about a 1/2 to 1" from the top. If you go to the 1st gen read only technical forum, there IS a factory service manual you can download..,. http://labs.trunkful.com/vrmanuals/firstgenmanual.pdf

MiCarl Posted May 11, 2016 Share #5 Posted May 11, 2016 Don't have to remove saddle bag to get to it. Just the side panel.
bongobobny Posted May 11, 2016 Share #6 Posted May 11, 2016 Yah! You're right Carl, I was thinking about the master cylinder! My old one is a MK1 with the removable bags anyway. Haven't looked at that on mine since '09! Was sort of relying on memory, something at my age don't work no more...
