ChrisM Posted April 12, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2015 Hello guys, I have a quick question for you all... I just replaced tires on my bike and after i reassembled the rear wheel, I'm not sure if the gap between the final gear assembly and the base of the wheel is not too big. It's about 1/4" from the base of the wheel. Please see the picture for detail. It is as far as i could push it in. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/12/75ff72535a842782830ac788ff3e152d.jpg
Du-Rron Posted April 12, 2015 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2015 As long as axle is flush on right hand side and you are not missing right hand washer and have tightened axle nut to 100-110 ft lbs, then it looks fine to me. The one thing I learned after the second time I put the wheel on was to lightly lubricate the big o-ring/washer located just behind the splines on the wheel drive on the wheel side. Makes pushing it back into the splines a lot easier.
ChrisM Posted April 12, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted April 12, 2015 yes... i cleaned up and greased up everything inside. the axle it about 1/16 or less sticking out on the right side. the washer is in and the nut is torqued to 110 ft lbs i just finished installing the front wheel and took i for a ride around the block... all seems to be solid, so i guess/hope all is good. have a good one guys and ride safe
