awsmsrv Posted November 7, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 7, 2014 OK. This is still bothering me. To get to a thread that I've already read, I have to go to Today's Posts because it disappears from view when I hit New Posts. Any way to get around this? (As if you don't have enough to do. Thanks.) Flyinfool Posted November 7, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 7, 2014 It only disappears if there are no "New Posts" after you have read it. If someone posted it will show the New Post.
awsmsrv Posted November 7, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted November 7, 2014 Yeah, I get that, but, it used to show up as read in regular type (not bold). Now it doesn"t show up at all unless you click on Today's Posts or go to the forum where it was posted. Within the forum it shows the way it used to when you used to hit New Posts. Flyinfool Posted November 7, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 7, 2014 You are correct, that is exactly how it now works. I did like the old way much better. You will also find out that it no longer marks all posts read once you leave the site, so when you come back it will still show all unread post going back to the date of the forum chaneover unless you go to the "Forum Actions" tab and select "mark Forums Read" just before you log out. Freebird Posted November 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 7, 2014 It's actually working the way that it always should have. Once you've read it, it is NOT a new post any longer and shouldn't show up as one.

True, but, the old site still listed it, just no longer in bold, so you knew that you'd read it, but could still go back to it if you wanted. No matter, I'll get used to it (maybe). Freebird Posted November 8, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 8, 2014 Then why don't you just use Today's posts all the time instead of new posts. It does exactly as you say. It shows all the todays posts and the one's that you've already read are still listed but not in bold. Why would you want both , Today's Posts and New Post's" to do exactly the same thing? Sheesh, take my fun away. I try to be a malcontent & look what happens? You respond with a perfectly logical explanation. No wonder you make the big bucks. Nothin' gets by the bossman, I tell ya. Btw, I do appreciate all the time you spend to make this site what it is. No better forum around. (Think I'll go back to my corner now & lick my wounds.)
