MasterGuns Posted May 4, 2014 #1 Posted May 4, 2014 Has anyone ever installed a FZ1 fuse block on their 1st edition? If so, where did you mount it. I want to use one for the several accessories I have on the bike but before ordering one, I want to know if it can be mounted somewhere other than in the trunk, one of the saddle bags or in either side of the fairing.
Prairiehammer Posted May 4, 2014 #2 Posted May 4, 2014 I don't own a Fuzeblock FZ-1, but looking at the dimensions of the block, it appears that it would fit on top of the air box.
MasterGuns Posted May 4, 2014 Author #3 Posted May 4, 2014 Thanks Kevin, I thought about that location as well but the top of the air box is already spoken for by an Ignitec tci. So, the only other decent locations I've found is behind the seat and on top of the compressor top. I can use industrial strength Velcro to attach it there. Thanks for your comments though.
icebrrg3rd Posted May 5, 2014 #4 Posted May 5, 2014 (edited) Well, looking at the fuseblock review on another website (Pashnit), the specs call out 10A max per circuit and 30A total for the block, I'd say it's primarily for adding on accessories. My '83 has 2-15A fuses and 3-10A fuses, well over the ratings of the FZ1, and that's just for the stock functions. Other than the low ratings for amps, I'd say it was a cool box. -Andrew edit- Just noticed that you were using for adding accessories, not as a primary fusebox. So just ignore me.
