jdross440 Posted March 28, 2014 Share #26 Posted March 28, 2014 I found out it's not the same as the Rivco adapter. The Rivco has a metric thread for the filter (20 mm x 1.5 thread) whereas the one here uses a 13/16-16 threaded filter.
Midicat Posted May 17, 2014 Share #27 Posted May 17, 2014 Finally got around to prepping my new adapter for the oil change this weekend. Bought Napa Gold 1522 filter. I noticed that some of the holes in the filter are blocked by the adapter. Is this ok? Thomas
Rosie1965 Posted May 18, 2014 Author Share #28 Posted May 18, 2014 Thomas, Not quite sure what you mean by some of the holes being blocked by the adapter. There is a gap between the filter holes and the adapter holes, therefore the holes don't need to directly line up with each other. Have over 1,000 miles on my adapter with Napa gold 1522 with no issues.
Midicat Posted May 18, 2014 Share #29 Posted May 18, 2014 Thanks Steve. I didn't take into consideration that there is that gap between the filter and adapter. Thomas
Neil86 Posted May 18, 2014 Share #30 Posted May 18, 2014 I found out it's not the same as the Rivco adapter. The Rivco has a metric thread for the filter (20 mm x 1.5 thread) whereas the one here uses a 13/16-16 threaded filter. I think Rivco no longer makes the adapter, and yes different thread on the two units.
