tbetty Posted October 18, 2013 #1 Posted October 18, 2013 Purchased this windshield about 2 months ago and just returned from a 3200 mile trip to South Florida. after a couple of 550 mile days, one of them in a heavy rain, I couldn't be more pleased. Mounting was simple, all holes fitted correctly, no problems. I think it actually fits better than the stock windshield. Windshield is optically clear side to side and top to bottom.Bugs cleaned off easily with the F4 cleaner and paper towels and left no scratches. I found that the water beaded up and ran down and around the sides leaving the shield clear and spot free. In light rain spray when the shield became dirty I was able to clear it up by riding behind a truck for a couple of seconds. At this size (19.5 extra wide wind buffeting was no problem even with a passenger. This really helped contribute to long 80 mph days in the saddle. No cracks or pits were noted upon return and the vent really helped on hot days and slow traffic. I only have a couple of minor complaints #1 There is no dark film on the lower mounting edge to hide the inner side of the back of the fairing and speaker hardware. (I intend to add this next time I split the fairing.) #2 The windshield vent used is the stock Honda Gold Wing vent and does leak some rain through shutters even when closed.( I may be able to remedy this with some thin weatherstrip) 2 complaints aside I couldn't be more pleased with this windshield and do not hesitate to give it top ratings. I haven't had any reason to test the companies warranty but if it is anything like their personalized customer service I expect no problems. Phil - 2001 Royal Star Venture
bongobobny Posted October 18, 2013 #2 Posted October 18, 2013 Good to hear Phil! I think next year I am switching from my Clearview to an F4...
orlean1 Posted March 11, 2014 #3 Posted March 11, 2014 Hi Tbetty In your opinion is the vent worth it or did the rain coming through the vent negate the benefits of having it. Also, with the vent open is there a good amount of air flowing through and does that introduce any buffeting at highway speeds. thanks Vince.
gamberch Posted March 31, 2014 #4 Posted March 31, 2014 ya phil I also very interested in buying an f4 and I was also curious if the vent is worth the money. I was thinking about getting one with vent but if there is not much airflow through the vent them I am not going to get it. And was the rain getting through real bad or is it managable. thanks
