Bubber Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 2006 Venture midnight I bought a Bunkhouse trailer and it has a 5 wire plug on it and the bike was wired with a 4 wire Hoppy isolator. I believe that the isolator is not working and now I want to wire the bike for a 5 wire so I can plug it into the trailer. Does anyone know which isolator I need for a 5 wire? A little help from you electrical guru guys would be much appreciated.
Brake Pad Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I ran a sub harness, to the Isolator, to a 5 into 4 harness. I gotta find the diagrams
M61A1MECH Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 This one will work, you substitute the wire for the back up lights for the tail tail light. http://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/Tow-Ready/119177.html
dacheedah Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 All the isolators I see are 5 to 4 flat, you could run relays or just wire it to 4 flat. This is a flynfool question. . . http://www.electricalconnection.com/wire-harnesses/hrns-trailer.htm is a 5 to 4 http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_taillight-isolator-hopkins_17010149-p hopkins 5 to 4 http://www.hopkinstowingsolutions.com/products/vehicle-wiring-connectors/power-taillight-converters/short_proof_power_converter.html 5 to 4
M61A1MECH Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 You can also go to Electrical Connection http://www.electricalconnection.com/wire-harnesses/hrns-trailer.htm they have an isolator.
