Riderinthesnow Posted June 14, 2013 Share #1 Posted June 14, 2013 Has anyone figured out an easy way to replace headlight bulb? My hand must be too fat.
wes0778 Posted June 14, 2013 Share #2 Posted June 14, 2013 Others may have a simpler solution, but splitting the fairing is the only way I've found...
Riderinthesnow Posted June 14, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted June 14, 2013 I tried removing the fairing, but was unable to remove the headlight pod. I did'n want to unscrew the adjuster knob all the way.
wes0778 Posted June 14, 2013 Share #4 Posted June 14, 2013 No need to mess with the adjuster, just take the two rubber mount bolts out and the bucket will swing around enough to let you change the bulb. Just a reminder, DON'T touch the glass on the new bulb!
djh3 Posted June 14, 2013 Share #5 Posted June 14, 2013 I read up on it here on the site first. My methoid was crank the handlebars full right. You will need a light of sometype to probably see up in the back of fairing. Remove the connector and boot. There is a metal spring clip that holds it in that has to be compressed. If you have a pick with a 90 deg end on it, it may help. It is a tight fit. got and 13yr olds in the neighborhood that want to make a couple bucks? Kregerdoodle Posted June 15, 2013 Share #6 Posted June 15, 2013 Just changed mine, split the fairing , removed the 2 screws in the frame work and there it is...nothing to it. No need to mess with the adjuster, just take the two rubber mount bolts out and the bucket will swing around enough to let you change the bulb. Just a reminder, DON'T touch the glass on the new bulb!
