uglydave Posted May 4, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2013 hey everyone..how long does it take for your cooling fan to start spinning?? bought my RSTD last year and never noticed when it started to spin or if it even does! should it start when i turn on bike or does she wait till it gets HOT? feeling stupid here ...and thanks ! M61A1MECH Posted May 4, 2013 Share #3 Posted May 4, 2013 It has to hit a certain temp before it cuts in, even here in Florida I seldom have in come on unless I am in traffic and the temps are over 80. Often times I never notice it is on. You can check it by letting it sit and idle for an extended perod of time on a warm day, after 15 or so minutes of running with no air flow across the radiator the fan should come on.
